I was born in Swindon, England and immigrated to Australia with my family when I was 15. On leaving school I served with the RAAF as a pilot, flying C-130 Hercules heavy transport planes and Iroquois helicopters, including an operational tour in Vietnam.
After 9 years with the RAAF I joined Ansett Airlines and piloted beautiful planes including the Boeing 727, 737 and 767. I stayed with the company until its close in 2001 then moved to the Sunshine Coast, Queensland where I spent four years training Singapore Airlines cadets on the Learjet 45, based at the Sunshine Coast Airport.
I left flying in 2007 and enrolled at the University of the Sunshine Coast to study visual arts, design and creative writing. I graduated with a bachelor degree and diploma of visual arts in 2009.
So now I'm a author and illustrator. I live on the Queensland Sunshine Coast with my wife, Judy. We have twin daughters, Sally and Elizabeth.
I like to watch action movies and listen to the lost genre of '60s guitar instrumentals.
Judy and I travel extensively and I incorporate many of the places we visit as settings for my novels.
